Second Nine Weeks Chemistry Review
You must find time to review on your own.
The regular assignments for week 17 are expected to be completed on time.
The second nine weeks test will be a combination of calculation problems and multiple choice/true-false questions. As you know, skills from the first nine weeks are still needed to work the second nine weeks problems. Computers, notes and books may not be used during the test. You will be able to use your personal periodic table and calculator during the test. Calculators and periodic tables will NOT be shared. The nine weeks test will count as a double test, 200 points. You will have the entire class period for the test, but no more.

Know how to recognize when a chemical reaction is taking place.

Be able to balance equations by inspection.

Avogadro‘s Number to three significant digits.
Why is the mole concept so important in chemistry?
Be able to do all factor-label problems learned during this week.
- Solutions
Know the parts of a solution.
Be able to do all molarity calculations learned this week.
Compare molarity, molality, normality, and mass percent.
- Stoichiometry
Be able to solve mass-mass problems.
Be able to solve limiting reactant problems.
- Kinetic Theory
What are the assumptions of the Kinetic Theory?
Be able to work problems in pascals.
Be able to work problems in joules.
Describe matter using the Kinetic Theory.
Compare the three common temperature scales.
- Crystals
Know the difference between a unit cell and a space lattice.
Know the difference between elementary crystals and network crystals.
Understand hydrated crystals.
